Dental crowns and bridges are prosthetic dental devices that are cemented onto existing teeth. We can provide same day crown services to our patients. You can come in the morning and have the crown fitted on the same afternoon using our equipment.
Crowns are used to cover poorly shaped or discolored teeth, replace a large filling when there isn’t enough tooth structure to do a composite filling, restore a fractured tooth or protect a weak tooth from fracturing.
The crowns at our practice are made without metal and we usually use zirconium and tooth color ceramic.
A dentist may recommend a bridge if you have one or more missing teeth. A bridge will replace the missing teeth, preventing the surrounding teeth from shifting or rotating into the empty spaces. In order to fix the bridge in, the surrounding teeth are prepped for the bridge cementation.
Before the crown or bridge are made, the tooth is prepped by reducing it in size in order for the crown or bridge to fit over the tooth properly. After the prep, a scan or an impression is taken of the tooth to make the crown or bridge to the exact size. We are able to make same-day crowns using our technology to scan the prepped tooth and fabricate the crown using the 3D image generated from the scan.
CEREC® is an acronym for “Ceramic Reconstruction” and is one of the most exciting technologies in dentistry. It is an abbreviation for:
Chairside – a technology that can be done while you are in the chair.
Economical – restorations made right in the office.
Restorations – giving teeth natural beauty, function and strength.
Aesthetic – metal-free and natural tooth-colored restorations.
Ceramic – high-quality ceramics close in composition to natural tooth structure. CEREC® technique developed and manufactured in Germany is a unique CAD-CAM system (Computer Assisted Design and Computer Assisted Milling)most used worldwide, creating aesthetic metal free restorations, without the need of impressions or temporaries and in only one appointment.
Dental crowns are essentially “caps” that fit snugly over damaged or misshapen teeth.
Traditionally, the two biggest challenges with this scenario come down to “Time and Convenience”. Historically, a dental crown required at least two office visits. The initial appointment typically included prepping the damaged tooth, taking dental impressions, and creating a temporary crown to protect your tooth for several weeks.
Impressions were then sent to an off-site lab, to manufacture the final crown and returned to the office. This typically took about 2 to 3 weeks. During your second visit, the crown was fitted, polished, and cemented in place.
The CEREC® method provides all the benefits 3 of a traditional crown but eliminates the three-week wait time.
Instead of sending an impression to a lab, CEREC® dentist manufacture your permanent crowns in his own office during your same initial visit and there is no need to wear a temporary restoration because you get final crowns within few hours on same visit.
Moreover, the traditional process for dental procedures, involves taking an impression of the teeth. The best part of CEREC® technology is that it does not need impressions in your mouth, which makes treatment most comfortable with literally no pharyngeal reflex.
Instead of inserting bulky impression trays into your mouth, a digital scanner does 3-D mapping of your teeth and transfers it to the computer.
Number of Visits: 2 – 3 visits
Completion Time: 1 week
Recovery Period: None
We will assess your dental needs and determine the best treatment option.
CEREC® is an exceptionally reliable, state-of-the-art computerized technology used to create tooth restorations in a single visit. With CEREC®, dentist can design your restoration that looks incredibly beautiful and feels more natural. There are no Black margins as with traditional crowns.
With CEREC®, your dentist can produce your restoration right in the office in less than 1 hour. There is no need to make any unpleasant impressions or wear artificial-looking temporary products while your permanent restoration is created.
The CEREC® process relies on digital imaging and programmed designing to accurately determine the specifications of the restoration that fits best to your smile rather than on manual fabrication.
The strength that comes from milling restorations, from a single block of ceramic porcelain makes it durable and resistant to cracks when chewing and biting. The ceramic material is anti-abrasive, plaque-resistant and with practically no dark edges visible.
Restoring a tooth immediately after an invasive treatment means there is less irritation, the tooth structure is maintained and there is less chance of infection and sensitivity.
CEREC® is an optimum solution, particularly for anxious patients. Since the final restoration is produced in a single visit, the patient only needs one anaesthetic injection.
Temporary prostheses are exactly what the name suggests: temporary. With CEREC® the final prosthesis is inserted directly without any temporary compromises needed.
Dentists and patients alike want their restorations to last a longtime. CEREC® meets these requirements: Today, CEREC® has been used to place more than 35 million restorations worldwide. Thanks to CEREC®, your smile will be just as lovely, many years later as it is directly after receiving the prosthesis.
The transparent process of a chair side restoration is ideal for a consultation: patients can easily visualize the treatment recommendation and the treatment process on the monitor while the restoration is being designed with the CEREC® software.

CEREC® crowns are completely made from a ceramic material that mimics both the color and light-reflecting properties of real tooth enamel. The average person cannot tell the difference between CEREC® and a natural tooth, so there will be no need to hesitate when it comes to showing off your smile. There will be no black margins as seen in traditional crowns.
Most patients experience little to no discomfort, and only one anesthetic is required.
Yes, once the crown is placed, you can resume eating normally.
