Types of Sedatives at Bayside Dental Tung Chung

We provide this type of sedative in our clinic.

Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas):

It is a safe and effective sedative agent that is mixed with oxygen and inhaled through a small mask that fits over your nose to help you relax.

MAC

We offer dental treatments under sedation or Monitored Anesthesia Care (MAC), for patients who are too anxious to get the dental treatment done under local anesthesia.

We offer this facility for both adults and kids. This is done at the MAC center, and all the arrangements will be made by our clinic staff.

Talk to your dentist if you are feeling anxious about your dental treatment, so they can assess if you are the right candidate for sedation.

If you decide to go ahead, our staff will coordinate with the MAC center.

MAC involves administering sedatives to help patients relax, reduce anxiety, and ensure a comfortable dental experience. MAC is different from general anesthesia as the patient is conscious and breathes on their own, but relaxed enough to not feel any pain or anxiety from the dental treatment.

We offer this facility for both adults and kids.

Talk to your dentist if you are feeling anxious about your dental treatment, so they can assess if you are the right candidate for sedation.

If you decide to go ahead, our staff will then make all the arrangements by coordinating with the MAC center.

Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas)

Nitrous Oxide, commonly known as laughing gas, is a colorless and odorless gas used to provide mild sedation. It is administered through a mask that you wear over your nose, making it easy and non-invasive.

  • How It Works: Inhaled through a mask, nitrous oxide helps you feel calm and relaxed during your dental procedure.
  • Fast Recovery: After the procedure, you will breathe in oxygen for at least five minutes to clear any remaining gas and regain full alertness.
  • Who It’s For: Suitable for nervous or anxious adults and children undergoing various dental treatments.
